Can we add our own suggestions after getting clients requirements?

I guess everyone come across which such situation where the business analysts think that their requirements should need to add some extra features or need an update in their requirements,

at that time what is better? Can we ask or say about it to the client? or we should directly add them and include into their proposal or estimation document???

There are two types of customers:

  1. The Customers who knew they needed something, but they really didn't  know what.
  2. The Customers who seem to know what they want, but they aren’t sure why they want that.

Both of them will be happy, if you discuss with them about your suggestions, and your advises. Then if the customers like your suggestions, then you can add them into their proposal. That will make you more open and flexible. Also, you will save your time.

If the project already have scope and yours is covered with that scope then you can definitely add suggestions.  Also consider if those suggestions are feasible in terms of development. If you're doing the BaaS, then every suggestions are welcome considering that it will be workable with the clients and the development team.

It is best for us to add some recommendations at the end. after we had taken the requirements, it is best to conduct some research related to his field of work.

Our research will identify some problems that may occur in the future. In addition, the research will help us recommend some more information that would best suit his business and meet his objectives.

Requirements gathering does not rely on the requirements of the client but also rely on the analysis of ours to collaborate in order to produce the optimum output that the company will need to achieve efficiency and effectiveness

i think that  the customers input is also important in coming up with the final document but first and foremost the analyst must come up with his own proposal and incorpoarte the customers one only if it is feasible . the best solution is to try and explain to the customer what you think is feasible and achievable then come up with a documents that has the input of both parties so that the desired outcome is met where all parties are satisfied

Well the answer to your question can be YES and NO both as it totally depends upon the type of project you are working upon and the mentality of the client.
