Should reading comprehension skills be a universal skills across all subjects?

Comprehension skills is the ability to read text, process it and understand its meaning. An individual's ability to comprehend text is influenced by their traits and skills, one of which is the ability to make inferences. Definitely when one is used more it it will be beneficial to him and it applies to all subjects
