Conflit is something to avoided but if things happen one needs to be prepared.

Conflicts is the natural state for most organisations, largely invisible on the day to day basis, in a well- run organisation conflict is healthy, this is where resources and priorities in the organisation are decided.

And at times this turns ugly about different agendas and priorities.

1/ Stop talking at them

2/ Listen actively

3/ Ask open questions 

Listning is a wonderful way of letting opponents talk themselves into agreement  and lovers talk themselves into bed.

Conflict is the result of misalignment in goal setting either by individual or by organisation. Further,culture of the organisation also promotes conflict among the team members.

Respect for people is one of the simple (but Difficult) solution to this issue. Well laid out procedures and adherence to such procedures and practices can reduce conflict .

Another aspect is arising from the career growth of the individual. Defined career advancement plan , as far as accurate performance analysis, career development plans and transparent communication can also help to reduce the conflict. This is through the development of confidence among the employees.

It needs to be resolved based on the project needs and requirements. Conflicts can not be avoided. only the well certified project managers can be able to resolve it efficiently.
