- The point of warmest fluid temperature and lowest pressure is where the air bubbles are most likely to separate from the water so if the pump located after chiller there is a chance to creating air bubbles.
- If a pump is placed on the outlet, the pressure drop may exceed the NPSH rating of the pump and cause cavitation.
" In case of post chiller pump installation the pressure drop of chiller coil is included along with all pipe line pressure losses. At least pressure pumping we can have a Cavitation sensation so to avoid this cavitation we prefer pre chiller pump installations.
Secondly , AHU coil pressure rating is always lower than the chiller coil pressure ratings so first we reduce the pressure of water by passing in chiller coil and than pass to AHU .
Hope this will help eliminate the confusions.
Your valuable suggestions will be appreciated to correct me.
Pump always installed before chiller to take care the resistance of eveporator coil resistance and further resistance in the secondary chilled water piping closed loop system
