Depending on the Type of the System, if it is European System (ESSER, Gent, Siemens,..etc) you will not need to add the power cable, as they are loop powered, you will add the power cable to the devices which will be controlled if needed. but if it is American System (Notifier, Edwards, Simplex,..etc) you must add the dc cable.

Hi there, It depends on the system you are using, but mostly yes. Apart from connecting to the loop most control modules require additional 24V to the control relay side. Check hochiki chq-dsc sounder control instruction for instance.

Sure you need to provide 24v power cable, and it should be from the same panel due to power backup, if you gonna use the module as a dry contact, so you need to use monitor module not control and this mean no need for the power cable.

In principal its ok, but The control module power depends on the vendor for example in est3 the siga-cr acts as control module for fans vfds dampers... its can sustain up to 3A 24AC

Yes, even the other Addressable F.A. System has a built in power in their control module such as "relay module" that connected on the loop. Due to power consumption consumed when the controll module is triggered and theirs another device connected (bell/Souder Strobe) that required power. To prevent voltage drop on loop line that cause system fault. Also it may  damage the loop panel board in the future, mostly if the loop has multiple control module …. But if you’ll going to use the control module as switching without power required possible no need power cable.

Yes. You do need to. Depending on the device which you wish to connect(interface). Such as for interfacing with as A/C, Acces Control, etc.

If it is data cable as specified by specialist vendor, that is,fire proof( LSHF)the need for separate power to module is not required. However, the loop for initiating and notification devices(like Bell,Horn etc) require 2 x2.5 sq mm dia.cable

sometimes it needs external power supply like signal control module that sirens connected to, in another hand we can connect control module to the loop.
