1. Search    feature:

SharePoint 2013 uses KQL  Keyword Query Lanuage with which we can create  a very powefull search based application.

2. Jquery  and html

Most of the development for SharePoint 2013 is made with the html and jquery  ,Angualar JS, which on one hand make SharePoint 2013 more stable , reduce job of SharePoint Administrator and on the ohter hand  it increase  performance as Restull api is more efficient way of retrieving SharePoint data then managed code.
