The basic difference is :-

Low Transmission (LT) :- Low transmission lines are those lines which works on low voltage as well current like 0-24V Ex. electronic devices.

High Transmission Lines (HT):- High transmission lines are those lines which works on high voltages and current lines which are also said to be High Tension LInes.These transmission are use to us in our daily lives. The electricity that we are enjoying at our homes offices etc are due to high transmission lines only.

LT means Low Tenson and voltage will be low and current will be high.HT means High Tenson and voltage 11kv to 33kv so Voltage will be high and current will be low.

LT line means low tention lines used for low voltage and HT lines means high tention lines used for high voltage.

LT, HT and othere appriviations like LV, MV, HV and EHV  all is grading  the power systems reference to the applicable voltage. LV is standing for power supply till 1000 volts while HT is for voltage above 1000 volts which is different voltages, 11kV, 13.8 kV, 33kV,  etc.

LT and HT lines mostly used in power transmission.LT line carries lesser voltage and higher current magnitudes and for HT line it is vice-versa.As the current magnitude decides the losses occur in the system, it is a proven standard to go for erection for HT lines for power transmission.

LT =low tension/or low voltage having below 1KV i.e 220/440v etc..

HT=high transmission/high voltage having Voltage from 11kv., 33kv up to 220kv.
