Employee deserves salary increment, but organization could not do it now due to financial crisis. How can I settle this troublesome problem?

EMPLOYEE DESERVES SALARY INCREMENT, BUT ORGANIZATION COULD NOT DO IT NOW DUE TO FINANCIAL CRISIS, AT THE SAME TIME EMPLOYEE WISHES TO RESIGN. BUT THE COMPANY WISHES HIS SERVICES OF HIS EFFICIENCY SINCERITY. AS AN H.R OFFICER HOW CAN I SETTLE THIS TROUBLESOME

What is most important is survival of the organization when there is financial crisis. During financial crisis, if you increase salary, the whole organization will go into deeper crisis or may even collapse and everybody will lose his/her job.

So. it is better not to give any increment to all. if someone would like to leave let him do so. But survival of the  organization for majority of the employees and to serve the society shall be top priority

Training and development in the carrer and knowledge could motivate the employee. A propmotion could be done with a comitment from the company about increase the salary in the future according to the new position results and when the finantial crisis is overcomed.

To inform the employees about current financial situation of the company and give commitment that if situation would be changed company will review next year salary by adjusting previous year or allot bonus share against salary review.

if the treatment of the company with that employee is good and even if that employee wants to quit that company leaving it in the crisis, then the company should search another person, there is no dearth of good people needing jobs in the market

Discuss the situation with the employee.  Letting the employee know that the organization greatly values his/her input, but that the business is not in a financial position to increase salary at present is transparent and will generally create loyalty, provided that an increase is provided as soon as fiscally possible.  To tell an employee they are appreciated and then not provide an increase when the company is capable will erode any credibility the company had and any loyalty the employee had.

Could allow relief of time. Allow him infect facilitate him to do part time work of his own or job, could allow him to use company transport or any other benefit like pick and drop of his kids from school etc. Include other benefits program like health insurance, membership to various clubs. Offer company stock options or equity plans
