Neutral is a circuit conductor that normally carries current, and is connected to ground (earth) at the main electrical panel. In the electrical trade, the conductor of a 2-wire circuit connected to the supplyneutral point and earth ground is referred to as the "neutral"

well, Neutral is live  conductor , Ground isn't

Neutral is a system wire ,which out from the common point of the generator or transformer wingdings

can supply single phase loads with  ungrounded conductors of any phases , it makes balance for the system voltage

Ground or earth cond. carry not any currents at normal conditions ,it used to connect with the metal body of appliances ,machines, and other loads and intended to connect to the ground by many mains to provide protection against indirect contact  to protect both man-users and equipment .it makes too a loop path for fault current to detect it by the suitable means according to the distribution system used .
