The following are the three weak areas of procurement:

Sourcing: It is necessary to have sufficient numbers of prequalified suppliers for the product and so there will be competitive price offers which will ensure economy of procurement.

Accuracy of specification: The purpose of procurement must be understood by the procurement staffs and accordingly the specification given by user department is reviewed thoroughly with support the user section so that the procurement serves it intended purpose i.e. effectiveness is ensured.

 Contract Administration:  This is follow up for delivery after issuance of purchase order as without proper follow up the delivery of works or goods may be delayed
