TIFF, DNG, NEF file format of photos drag it or open it on photoshop you'll see the difference than jpeg while under the editing of photoshop so after you enhance it at all you save it as jpeg to save a disk space...jpeg is fine for finish product.
Camera Raw format is the best option because it offers powerful controls for adjusting the exposure, color, tonal range, noise, and other characteristics of your photos, and you can monitor the corrections in a large preview.
Keep in same format because changing format does affect the quality of image, Once you are done with editing export it in JPG.
JPG or JPEG is the best picture format, but if you still want a HD use PNG or PSD and use High resolution in your image.
RAW or Digital Format.
it's only RAW format if it's available.
raw format is the best format to open an image in photoshop. if you havent got taht format with you Ex: think you only have a jpeg format image to edit with changing the priference menue will let you to open that image in the photoshop as a raw file you dont want to convert it.and also in taht format you will be able to correct the image more easily with the raw format editor window.it will also save your disk space too.
If you want to use photo for website so you can create JPG is best for photos and if you want to ready for print so Psd or tif is best.
RAW is the best format available....for that you should change your image type JPEG into RAW in your camera
