find the machine manual and mchine log . usual there are troubleshooting page in machine manual.
using log history we will knew what have been done by previous owner.
1-check the operator if not successfull
2-check the as built if not available
3-theoritically split the equipment into parts & deal with every single part & check everything about it
PS: your problem wouldnt have had happenned if you had a preventive maintenance schedule
Generally respective mechanical Principles are same to respective equipments. just we need to check breakdown in which area and why it has done.
we need to get into the paricular part and analyze how to resolve the problem.if it hard to find, we can go through website or field genius. after getting some input from them, we can repair.
we can do anything if have confidence..

go to the control panel of the machine
disconnect all power inputs and outputs of the panel
start to test all the components like contactors , relays , timers , fuses , etc but keep warry about the componants coils
till u find the one not working then replace it and keep testing for all the componants just in case may be there is anather one not working
