Social Media Marketing provides small businesses with the platform they need to get their message across. With the ability to post photos, videos, and blog posts, small businesses can grow into medium sized enterprises within months if SMM is done effectively and correctly. The likelihood of not becoming successful over a short period of time with SMM is small, and it really doesn't take much effort. However, it does take time. A lot of the time when I'm consulting small and medium enterprises, I get asked, "Why isn't this working for me? I've been doing this for three months." It's because three months is nothing in SMM time. You need a minimum of six months to get things going, and then you have to ask yourself: Just how effective is my SMM campaign? I always like to ask my clients these questions: 1. Did you set a target market? 2. Did you study your target demographic? 3. What social media platforms are you using? 4. Are you giving people and your potential customers the opportunity they need to know who and waht your business is? 5. Are you posting online enough?
If my clients can't answer those questions and don't have any ideas as to what it is they want to see in the near to far future, I work with them from square one...back to the drawing board we go! If you don't know tha answer to those quetions, don't you even touch SMM yet! Get those answers first, then you can create the proper campaign...create a style guide for each platform. What this means is you need to design colors, images, and a proper format to use for whatever social media site you decide to use. If it's several sites, then stay consistent with colors and images, but make sure that you create a template that stylized for each site. Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter...whatever. Each one requires a different template, so be sure to create them.
By following these steps, you'll be able to grow your business and ensure its success.
