To add something little to mr. Mohamad Abou's wonder & nice submission. Sometimes it all depends on the situation at hand & conditions just as the job specifications indicate. Some positions require someone with just working experience while some positions require someone with both working experience & higher education. Therefore i would choose the most suitable candidate by comparing their assessement to the job specificatiins handed down by management. On the hand someone without much experience may be trained & gets exposed in the field thus aquiring experince with time. However there are exceptional cases where someone with less qualifications performs or delivers better than those with higher qualifications. Therefore alot of factors have be analyesed; assessed & considered for the best choice
This is an interesting question. lets take an example
two managers were hired (lets say in retail fashion) one with 10 years experience (Manager X) and one with 0 year experience. (Manager Y). X knows how the operation runs and what tasks he/she should perform in order to maintain the smooth running of the operation. We see manager X still in the same position for all these years in which we can conclude they have lower chance to reach higher position. Manager Y starts fresh, he takes the training required, the basics of the operation and he runs the store, due to his education he can add value by changing certain old rules and implement more effective one and put them into test. Manager Y has set skills from education. Manager Y has more knowledge, better management style, and better knowledge, given a specific time manager Y will have experience+education, this will benefit the organization itself.
Manager X and Manager Y Later apply for brand manager position, the organization that they applied for will most likely short list manager Y for having experience and education level.
Taking example of some managers in Kuwait especially in retail stores, many managers don't know the english language due to not having been educated while others do, you can notice those with education and experience advance faster and more productive in terms of dealing with customers, the team and running the operation.
FOR ME SUCCESS IS HIGHER EDUCATION AND KEY IS WORK EXPERIENCE
That would depend on the field you are in. However, if it is an easy one, just create a qustionare and ask the appliacnts with higher education to answer it, and take from there, But if the feild you are in is more complicated, then experince will be more vauable to you, and you will have to hire the more expreinced applicant, and off course you would be paying them hire than the ones with no, or less experince.
