Exceptional covering letter should grab the employer's attention by innovative approach which should explain their career goals and objective and also a summary of their latest experience
The covering letter should be crisp and detail oriented. As a recruiting manager I should know the key result area of the candidate after reading the covering letter. If the candidate is fresher it should highlight the internships goals achieved and academics and if the candidate is with work experience than it should highlight the experience and achievements.
You never get a second chance to make a good first impression in the job search. And in most cases, your first impression on a hiring manager begins with your resume and cover letter. If you don’t get the cover letter right, you may never get the opportunity to wow them with your new suit, confident eye contact, and compelling interview stories.
Even if you network your way into that job interview (and even if you got a great referral from one of your advocates), the hiring manager will look at your resume and/or cover letter and use them to form or influence an opinion prior to meeting you.
Exceptional cover must include your career objective, goals and what you want to be in your future.
In order to write an exceptional cover letter, the candidate must not write in a "show off" manner. The candidate must show that he/she is the one who is suitable the best for this position and he/she needs to mention the right skills that the company are looking for, mention a name of a person who recommended this job to him/her and of course ask politly for an interview.
I think apart from the qualifications , skills and experience that you are going to mention in the cover letter , an exception letter would be the one highlighting a list of competencies possessed by the candidate that make him the most suitable candidate prone to be successful on the job.
In my view it is about identifying the most critical competencies required to be successful on the job , firstly.
Secondly explaining and elaborating in the light of those competencies that you are the best fit and the right person for the job.
Thanks For invitation
I do agree with experts answers
Exceptional Cover letters grabs the attention of the employer , It must include brief about your profile & willingness in a positive way to join the company with a positive attitude.
the cover letter should be like a summary. Stating your qualifications, previous work experience and any other relevant detail to the post you are applying for. Do not make it long, but also not too short that it seems incomplete to the person reading it. It the first impression.
Thanks for the invitation and completely agree with Tahani
