During my internship at Data Communication and Control(DCC), I observed the use of hydraulic dynamometer at Nissan motors.

Upon my enquiry of the reason for using a relatively old and inefficent technology, I was informed that dynamometers using advanced technology were expensive and required electricity supply fromt he national grid system.

I took it as a challenge to make an inexpensive dyanmometer, which could supply energy back to the grid. As this was a huge project, I decided to take it up as my Final Year Project. However, as my team members had already decided a different project for the FYP, I knew the first obstacle to overcome would be their resostance to changing it.

Several legitimate objections were raised such as the high cost and scale of the project. Initially they refused to take it up and a possible threat of the group splitting up also loomed. I had to handle the situation very carefully. To satisfy their objections, I gave them various reasonable assurances. I started by explaining them that this  product is in high demand, and completing it successfully would really improve our technical knowledge and experience. I also started corresspondence with DCC and proposed them to fund our project in return for an efficient dynamometer. Upon discussing this project with the faculty members we got a very encouraging response and were advised to pursue it.

The breakthrough came when my effort to secure a sponsership succeeded and DCC(Data Comunication & Control) decided to fund my whole project. Therefore I was able to successfully convince all my team members.
