What is the difference between Quickbooks and Tally ERP Accounting Software?

QuickBooks has desktop version & also iCloud version. Made for North America, as there are pre-set parameter as per North American tax laws. As per the requirement of the client, you may have different upgrades on the software, from basic accounting/one user to multi-users/currency with inventory & payroll features as well. I don't know much about tally, but I guess if Google both, you might have better idea about the difference. Another thing about QuickBooks. It uses perpetual inventory & no way you can use period inventory.

Quickbooks online accounting software from Intuit is a cloud based accounting software offered in a SAAS model. Tally ERP  is an accounting software from Tally Solutions Private Limited. Tally ERP is offered as a software that can be installed on any PC running windows XP or higher. 

QuickBooks is offered as in a SAAS model through the clouds.Since, the accounting information is stored online, multiple users from multiple locations can work on the same accounting information while staying in sync. Tally ERP 9 is offered as a software. ally ERP 9 does have powerful remote connect capabilities allowing persons not connected with the PC storing the accounting information to work on the same data from a different PC running Tally.

Its not about Cloud or Windows based. Its about accounting software Vs ERP software.

Even Tally call itself ERP, unfortunately its not. Its good for accounting, but no longer for modern accounts concept. Eg: Purchasing some inventory; in Tally treating it as Expense and whereas Quickbooks treating it as Asset. Same way we can find lot of differences and it is sure that within few years Tally 'ERP' will not be in market.

In future locally made advanced softwares like Tranquil Business Software, Qoyod etc., will overrule Tally or Quickbooks etc., in GCC

Tally ERP 9 is offered as software. A PC running Windows XP or higher is required. Tally ERP 9 is a works as stand-alone software and the accounting information is stored on the PC’s hard-drive. Tally ERP 9 does have powerful remote connect capabilities allowing persons not connected with the PC storing the accounting information to work on the same data from a different PC running Tally. Tally ERP 9 presently doesn’t offer any iOS or Android App and is thus accessible only through a PC running Tally ERP 9.
