“BLOOD IS THICKER THAN WATER.” Do you Agree or Disagree?

This famous proverb illustrates that our Loyalty to our Family/Our Blood Relations is STRONG no matter how we feel about them. In other words, family ties are CLOSER than other relationships i.e. Friends, Peers, etc.

I DON’T agree with this notion; it’s a PROBABILITY, NOT a MUST.

Ours is the one;

  • who takes care of us,
  • who Loves us,
  • who stands by us through thich and thin,

whoever he/she might be. It does make no difference that we have Blood relationship with that person or not. He/She can be our Best Friend, our Class-fellow, our Colleague and/or a Total Stranger who helps us immediately at the time of some roadside accident.

I didn't experience / observe that keenly.

Just kidding. Scientifically & medically, it is proved that blood is thicker than water.

This proverb is totally true in Tribal communities whose main affiliation of its members to the tribe and then followed by any other affiliation , But This does not apply to modern societies

Obviously blood is thicker than water. If we like to go in deep to understand the actual meanings of this sentence which shows the blood relation of the family can be strong if there are true feelings, sincerity, respect and courage.

But In my point of view the relation of heart with true feelings is the strongest relation in the world, whether they are in blood relations or may be friends, colleagues, class mates, neighbors. They can stand with you in any difficult situation without taking any advantages or reasons are called heartfelt relation “Ahsas k Rishty”.  It is only possible when we love human more than ourselves and give them priority on our needs and thoughts. It will be making the relation more strong and strong forever.

A beautiful poetry I read a long time before related to this topic:-

Khoon k Rishto Main Agar Hoti Mohabbat

Yousaf Na bikta Misark Bazaro Main.

-To the question"Blood is thicker than water" obviously answer will be blood, everyone know

-According to Google answer is "family relationships and loyalties are the strongest and most important ones."

-From my point of view family is most important thing in this world, utill you won't get respect and value of a family, if they cares you, fight with you or always be with you, you will realized when they left you,

-Profit(SAW) told in the last days, Son will give more important to friend rather than father,  :(

-I disagree this, but I don't say others don't care or they are bad, but while comparing to family member other are nothing,

Scientifically yes ,  that's right. Thank you Ms. Fari

i disagree, because i believe just being blood related doesn't make family. its love and trust and joy together that makes a family, and sometimes there is no "biological" relation to those who consider them family.

Bloody biology didn't unite us here but Chemistry Farhana!

It is Chemistry that unites the non-biological blood relationship and separates biological blood relationship and vice-versa.

Thanks dear,

Partly agree, some person inside our families caused some harm to us, and they did not take in consideration blood relation.

Yes; blood is thicker than water but, love is stronger than hate and far more powerful than jealousy.

No family is perfect.... We argue, we fight, and even talking to each other at times, but in the end, the family is family.... the love is always there.

Blood is supposed to be thicker than water but when you need help, sometimes your friends are there before your family.......
