In the recent years developing countries were growing much faster than developed countries and in the next years this process will accelerate. On the other hand there are a lot of problems across these countries, some of them I present below. The biggest challenge for developing countries is to assure sustainable development in the long run and this could be transformed into new foreign investments.
Problems to solve in developing countries:
- energy safety (diversify the supplies)
- food and water supplies (access to clear water and proper quality foods is still a problem)
- natural disasters (earthquakes, floods, storms, etc.)
- structure of the export (don't be only the exporter of raw materials or natural resources)
- structure of the job market (high unemployment rate, create jobs in the country, improve the know-how, don't be only the service provider or low-cost producer)
- political issues (political unrest, bureaucracy, corruption, terrorism)
- currency wars (developing countries are very sensitive, most of them don't have the reserves on required level "to try" to protect the currency)
- environmental issues (decreasing the air, ground and water pollution)
- underfunded education system (illiteracy is still a problem)
I agree with Armagan Kemalettin Acat on his answer but I want to add more about challenges that facing the developing countries such as health care, food and water is a basic need, increase in growth population leads to unemployment and affect on GDP per capita
