So when things aren’t going your way, or you feel like you are losing control or are overwhelmed, pay attention to the warning signs listed below. They are just some of the ways that your body is telling you it needs maintenance and extra care.

But there’s also bad stress, which is often caused by worries such as our money, jobs, relationships or health, whether it be sudden and short or long-lasting. Feeling stress for too long, whether for several hours, days or months, sets off your body’s warning system of physical and emotional alarms.
Everyone reacts to stress differently, and each body sends out its different set of red flags. Some people may not even feel the physical or emotional warning signs until hours or days of stressful activities.
But when you do notice a stiff back or that you are snapping at your friends, pay attention to the signs and listen to what your body is telling you. While the adrenaline rush after that shift can be something to enjoy, the warning signs of stress are not anything to take lightly or ignore.
By noticing how you respond to stress, you can manage it better and in healthy ways, which will help your body correct itself, reducing the high cost and care of chronic, long-term health problems.
Stress free job sector is zero,even without doing anything is full of stress. Hospitality industry is the place where stress management applies effectively and minimise to serve better.
For me it is stressful because you are expected to always remain calm and relaxed, even if sometimes guests are rude and unreasonable.
It is also tough because you have to build and maintain relationships with everyone. Some people are good at it; for me it takes time and effort.
every type of job is stressful if you don't enjoy your job...hospitality industry requires hard work and dedication,if you dont like your job and dont enjoy your job you will find it stressful and boring.your interest and dedication in job decreases the chances of stress that you may face..
stress is a common issue in all industries, its not hooked to one feild of speciality more than any other feild, sergions stressed, programmers, pilots, etc , surly it varries but stress is all over the planet, what can help to have stress level minimized in any feild is knowledge, time managment, staff force harmony, in hospitality, you have a guest, the most ancient rule is CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT,
I would say not as stressful as the Financial Market industry; especially now days:)
Well, in the beginning you could feel it is sucking you to the unknown, balance between social life and work life would seem impossible. However, these are all normal symptoms; usually they could lead to undesired feeling of depression, especially when you start working in shifts. I must say I had those moments, and whenever I try to leave the industry to do something else, I find myself crawling back. I cannot help it, I am in love with this industry, I like the fact that I take it as a way of life, a life style that I can imagine myself walking away from.
I was exposed to so many experiences in this industry; it is the reason why I am what I am today. A friend of mine once said, this industry is for those who don’t have ego, wo accepts to serve others with pleasure, if one has what it takes, it will be a success story. What I’m trying to say, if you choose this industry out of more than one option you might have because you believe it is what you want to do, then it is the right industry for you, then stress is a collateral damage that is waived with the satisfaction of achievement. If you have chosen this industry because you were desperate and had no other options, then no, keep looking until you find something else to do, because it is going to be stressful no matter how you look at it.
So, to answer the question, we should re-ask it in different manners, it should state “How can we turn the stressful environment in the hospitality industry to a joyful experiences?” It is all about people, those who accept to take the challenge and turn the table on the bad events to create memorable experiences that creates beautiful moments for years to come. Yes, it will be stressful, yes it will be tough and sometimes you feel that your feet can’t hold you no more, but the interaction and the vibe such industry is giving you is by far one of the most rich experiences that maintains high levels of adrenaline:)

Research shows that there is a negative correlation between job stress and customer service. Therefore, less stressed employees provide better customer service than those more stressed.
Many of us will say that word-of-mouth is the best critique, but I find that even when friends, family or acquaintances occasionally recommend a hotel or restaurant, I get a bum steer. By that I mean, what wows one may not wow them all. I know some people who do not care for certain restaurants which I happen to love. And some of the lower rated, 3 star hotels have been wonderful stays! I would prefer a collective viewpoint more than just someone’s single, unique experience but in light of those fake reviews and bum steers, whose ratings can I trust?
Perhaps it would be ideal for hospitality businesses to take over the reins and conduct a survey themselves instead of relying solely on these critiques.
Hospitality industry is stressful because it requires a lot of factors like uniquess of quality product,good customer service,good ambience and highly quality service oriented staffs.Workers must smiles even when they are unhappy to make the customer comfortable.
