Intention is the very basis for classifying the crime in Criminal Law. So intentional crimes are the heinous crimes when compared to unintentional ones.
Ex : Murder - You have an intention to kill a person thereby prepare, plan and execute your intentions is a Culpable homicide amounting to Murder, is a heinous crime.
You killed a person with a view to defend yourself as a case of RPD. In such a scenario you killed a person only to defend yourself or save yourself or property, etc, but not with intention. thereby it is a crime of lower degree. Thanks.
