Dear friend,
For theory:
I will suggest you to go with Sybex: CCNA study guide7th edition (easily available on internet) and for CCNP, you have to study Routing, Switching and Troubleshooting (all three to get certified)
for CCIE you can Follow CCIE by Sybex.
For Practical:
CCNA (Cisco certified network associate) and CCNP (Cisco certified network professional) can be studied on your own and practiced also (Netsim simulator-easy for beginners or GNS3- advanced study)
Note: In my personal opinion you can cover CCNA, CCNP by self study (sybex books provides sufficient information to you to qualify the certifications) but CCIE is a bit different, Start studying CCNA, CCNP on your own.
Hey Friend,
I'm agreeing with Wassem Ali Khan. He has clearly been explained how this thing work. CCNA and CCNP you can study by your own, the theory parts. You can download the cisco packet tracer and can do the Lab parts virtually. But for CCIE is complex. You need to follow up with a good institute and a trainer for it. Further you need more experience with CISCO devices to get the Level as CCIE. You have one exam on Theory and one exam on LAB to get certified as CCIE. It's more complex.
Hope this might help you. Good Luck
Cisco’s CCNP R&S track currently has 3 exams, ROUTE, SWITCH and TSHOOT. Pass all 3 exams and you will be CCNP R&S certified.
ROUTE
Let’s start with an overview of all the major ROUTE topics:
EIGRP Packets and Metrics
EIGRP Summarization
EIGRP over Frame-Relay
EIGRP Authentication
EIGRP Advanced Features
OSPF LSA Types
OSPF Summarization
OSPF Special Area Types
OSPF Authentication
OSPF Virtual Links
Routing Manipulation
Redistribution
BGP (Border Gateway Protocol)
IPv6 Routing Protocols
IPv6 Tunneling
SWITCH
Let me show you the major topics of the SWITCH exam:
VLANs and Trunking
Private VLANs
Spanning-Tree Basics
Rapid Spanning-Tree
MST (Multiple Spanning-Tree)
Spanning Tree Toolkit
Etherchannel (Link Aggregation)
InterVLAN Routing
Gateway Redundancy (VRRP, GLBP, HSRP)
Switch Security
VoIP / Video on Switched Networks (Quality of Service)
Wireless
Some of these topics should ring a bell, you learned about VLANs and Trunks from CCNA but you’ll learn some more about them. Spanning-tree should be familiar but you will learn about the different flavors like “rapid” spanning-tree and Multiple spanning-tree in-depth. Etherchannels were mentioned in CCNA but now you’ll learn about the different types and how to configure them. There are also some “multilayer” switch topics like routing between VLANs and creating virtual gateways for clients using VRRP, GLBP and HSRP. In CCNA you learned about port-security which is also in the SWITCH exam but you’ll also learn about DHCP and ARP snooping. Last but not least you will learn how to prepare your switched network for Voice over IP, Video and/or wireless networking.
Q: Is is possible to become CCNP R&S certified with self-study?
A: Definitely yes! Because of GNS3 it’s easy to practice all router protocols on your own computers and with a couple of switches you will have all the equipment you need. It will take self discipline to work yourself through the material since you are not “forced” to be in the classroom and attending a course.
Mostly by watching training videos and practicing labs on both GNS and Cisco Packet Tracer.
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاتة
Cisco Network Academy provides self-study through the curriculum as you buy reference books from Cisco Press site as these references there are some sites that offer free and you can practically training through simulation programs such as cisco packet tracer and GNS3
If you want a certificate you can apply through a partner for Cisco in your country
I think the best way is to watch tutorial videos like CBT Nuggets and study Cisco press books and do practicals on GNS3.
Dig is the way to go,
1. GNS3 is a free network simulator with limitation on switching LABs.
2. On eBay you can buy couple of Switches 35 series for cheap price.
3. you need discipline, you have to study every day and set yourself a fixed time.
4. try Torrent the CBT nuggents on Kick Ass, these guys know how to zipp it for you in a 30 min max session, you'll love them
5. Lab Lab lab, specially with wireshark, intergrated with GNS3, and per link, and packets don't LIE!!
Good Luck man!
CCNA and CCNP can be self studied. But i don't think you can self study CCIE and get certified!. Becoz its very hard and you have to dedicate your4-6 hours a day for atleast1 and half year to prepare for the CCIE exam.
Hi Friend,
You need to go for training videos & online material where you can do the practise on GNS3.
You have to dumps once you are confident with CCNA, CCNP and/or CCIE.
You can find lot many videos & documents online.
from y experience first i have to download GNS3 lab to practise all protocols routing and configuration plus using the video courses downloaded from websites then finally getting practise by answering questions foreach exams from different dumps like test killer& pass4sure and Actual test.
