Your boss is your boss for a reason. Sometimes questioning his/her judgement, no matter how outrageous it seems, is not truly appreciated. Give the newbie a while to settle down. Dont judge by what's on paper...sometimes they can surprise you with their out-of-box thinking and distinct approach!

P.S. If an Arts grad. has been hired in a chemical factory..then I'd recommend a training schedule or a HR intervention. :)

I will talk to him as a part of the selection process is to check together the criteria upon which we select out team even if he will take the decision alone ,,,,, according to his reply to me i will check if i go ahead with his selection or i refuse to take the employee in my department ........ system is the judge

- First at all, I have to report the issue to the management, in order that they are aware of the situation and not to blame me for any inadequacy or inefficiency in my team accountability and performance.

- Schedule him/her for the required training. Each new hire has someone to coach and train him or her, and within a few months, or weeks in some cases, they’re fully up to speed and online. We don’t focus on hiring people who are less experienced, but we do look for the right attitude and it usually ends up they are lighter on the experience.

- Then we have continued to encourage them to push forward and to aim higher than ever before

- Then we have to wait to see the development and the performance of the new joiner. Then we decide for the next step.

The point is to be quick on your feet and think of something unexpected and meaningful to stand out in potential superior’ eyes.
