Well it depends upon the size and the budget of the Organization. Although there are many big names in ERP like SAP, Oracle & MS Dynamics but then again it all comes down to the cost of ownership and to choose the right ERP for your line of business. We perfer SAP B1 for our e-commerce solution since it covers most of our core business needs.
There is no one and best solution for e-commerce (It depends on what is your budget). I met with Microsfot Dynamics but I know companies working with several systems (local software producers) at the same time. The more systems you got, the more attention you keep on coordination of actions.
Size of the company, number of operations, size of product mix and financial capacity are the most important issues in the decision process.
It depends on the size of the company in terms of how many departments are going to be integrated in the ERP, how many products are you having? How many branches for the company? The best ERP platforms for e-commerce companies are Oracle and SAP. For medium sized comapnies, you have Netsuite.
Apart from above recommended, I would like to advice to go through below ERPs which are specialized for E-Commerce:
1. eRetail ERP System
2. OpenERP.com
3. MyERP.com
It totally depends upon the size, expansion plans and type of the company, few people refer SAP, other says Oracle and MS Dynamics is good, currently i am using MS Dynamics and was a Key user at the time of implementation, its a good ERP software. But the thing matters how you implement it and what are your functional requirements.
