The easier role is to be team member because being a leader takes a lot of courage and responsibility to make sure that every member is doing his job

I can manage both the roles well.  Becoming a leader, can guide and motivate my team for company growth.   As a team member,  I can share, learn and improve myself  as well as my company strength.

A team leader is a team member who has more authority and administrive power. This does not mean that his job is easier than other team members, each level of responsibility has its share of chalenges and accountability.

As a professional i dont think any role is tough or easy,for me work is the main motive, if i am a leader or team member in both the cases i do have to work, its a misconception that being a leader we dont have to work, we have to work in both the cases, if i am a good working team member i will definately be a leader some day, so both are easy if we work, n both can become tough if we dont work.

n i dont think there is any difference between the two roles, we have assignments in both cases and we need to complete them...

For me, I can work as a member as well as a lead. For being a Leader, you should possess more traits like coordinating the team, motivating the team, available with the team to resolve the problems facing by team and in a good friendly environment and I feel I have all the requirements of a Good lead and Alhamdulillah was succeeded in Team Leader capacity in more than one project and best fit for me is the team leader as i can also utilize my past experience. Yes there are differences in requirements of the role. For a lead you should be a good member in addition to the above qualities. Thanks.

Yes there is deference between each other, to become a team leader that means more difficult works because you have to support your team members with new ideas,empower and encourage each individual, prevent them becoming bored,celebrate personal milestones,listen to them, encourage friendly competition, allow pets at work, reward accomplishments, create attainable goals, be clear with expectations, be a leader worth following, make things interesting, encourage learning new skills, foster creativity, give credit where credit is due, create a career path, start a tradition, get personal, keep an open mind, encourage laughter, Recognize strengths, be available, manage everyone individually, encourage ownership, promote unity, have patience, be flexible, offer incentives, provide balance, welcome new method, cultivate a positive work environment.

In my experience I have been a team leader most of the time. It's easy for me to be a leader but being a leader also means to be a part of the team. 1-      A team leader sets the team in a direction to research, design, build, implement, maintain or improve something in accordance with the company’s overall vision. 

 

2-      A team leaders must balance the needs of a team with the needs of upper management and how the team’s work aligns with overall company or client goals.

 

3-      A team leader primarily focuses on the human resources of the team. Team leaders can be former supervisors or experienced managers from within the company or hired anew.

 

4-      A team member is a person belonging to a specific group of people involved in attempting to achieve a common goal.

 

That was the deference between the team leader & team member, personally I used to be a team member, and then I start to lead teams as I have more experience, it’s easier and I am enjoying doing it.
