How to share printer on LAN/Wi-fi ?

Step 1: Right click Properties on the printer to be shared which is installed on PC1. Then on Sharing Tab choose the relevant printer name for example Printer1.

Step 2: to configure the shared printer from PC1. Go to the Add Printer of PC2 which requires shared printer. Add Printer and select "shared printer by name" and \\\\PC1\\\\Printer1.

ITs depends your printer type. if you have a network printer you can assign printer through Ip address its will smooth your performance even any PC down. For sharing Network printer put a static IP Address same range of your user Vlan, and on those machine you want add printer from control panel device and printers add local printer, Tcp/ip Put assigned ip address and chose proper driver. If u have a local usb/serial printer you have to assign one PC for sharing purpose and once its down whole Printing purpose will down. For sharing and adding from control panel device and printers chose which printer you want share, properties sharing share with you desired name. for adding printer from control panel device and printers add printer from network may its will search automatically whole network and find printer and install. if wont get manually add \\\\pc name\\share name of the printer\\  and add. So i will prefer Network Printers for smooth working.

It will depends on your printer features if your printer supports wi-fi printing.For LAN printer sharing,go to Devices and Printers,select your local installed printer,right click to printer properties,click sharing tab,tick "share this printer" then press ok. You can access this local shared printer into another desktop which is connected into the same network by pressing windows logo+R type \\\\0.0.0.0 (ip address of the desktop which local printer is connected) press ok,it will appear the printer name then connect.done.

you can configured wifi printer in 7 steps that is

After, look for the Windows network, then scroll down the workgroup to the shared printer (this will have the name you assigned earlier). After choosing the shared printer, click to connect. This will ensure that the shared printer will appear in the printer’s dialog box when printing.

Step 6 For Mac users, look for 'Printer Utility' and run the 'Printer Browser'. Select 'More Printers...' to look for the printers included in the network. Choose 'Windows Printing,' and scroll down through the workgroup until you see the computer with the printer attached. Select the name of the computer, then encode the printer name but leave the password blank.

Step 7 Choose 'Ok' after to save all changes and make the printer entirely accessible to the clients of the wireless network. It would be best to also add the printer to the firewall's list of approved devices so that it would not be 'blocked' when launched. Also, users of Windows Vista will need a user's account login information to access the shared printer.

Depends upon the printer you have 

if your printer supports wifi printing then you just have to go to printer setting and enable wifi printing.

then on your Computer just go to add printer and devices click on add a new printer

you will see your printer wifi name appearing in the results column just click on it and add it to your devices similar steps you can do it for as much Computers as you have.

 

if the printer is connected on LAN then the same procedure only skip the wifi enabling part ...

when you will add the printer at the end you will see an option saying that share the printer give the printer a sharing name and click on share 

I wasn't able to connect the printer this way so I still use a wire. Maybe I just should upgrade and get a better printer not to have such an issue. I am thinking of Brother MFC-L3770CDW. Should it connect without problems? I just like the fact that cartridges for this one are pretty cheap on https://www.mrdepot.ca/products/brother-mfc-l3770cdw-toner so it seems to be a good choice.

Go to control panel / devices and printers / then click on add printer then chose add to network then the windows will search your network and identify the available printers then you chose the HP printer after that click next after that windows will now connect the printer and  look for the driver. Once it has located the driver, you’ll be asked to confirm you trust the printer, and then the driver will be installed on your machine. A pop-up will confirm your PC is now connected to the printer. Press Next. You’ll be given the option to print a test page. Alternatively, press Finish to begin using the printer

depends if the printer has ethernet for LAN connection..if it doesn't have and connected only through USB printer cable then the host pc which the printer is connected to can be the source by enabling share from printer settings and giving a specific name, this can be access from other pc which is in the same network by mapping the printer from its hostname. for Wifi part just connect the printer to same Wi-fi SSID all connected devices within the same wi-fi network can add the printer through add printer and devices and add new printer option, you will find the wi-fi printer from the list.
