There are two types of losses in Transformer. 1. Core Loss. 2. Copper Loss. We need laminated sheets to reduce core loss. Basically we test no load loss to see what are the wattage due to core loss. We need to measure the no load current which will not exceed 2% of the rated current. It means our cores sheets are properly interlocked. The more the magnitising current the more core will saturated. Hence, core loss are tow types Eddy Current and Hysteresis Loss. At Copper Loss we need to do load loss test to find the impedence voltage and load loss at rated current. To reduce this losses we need to low resistance path to current so that less heat will generate. They are two types Winding Losses and Stray losses. Thanks.

There are two types losses :

1. Copper loss

2. Core loss

a. Hysteresis loss

b. Eddy current loss.

Copper losses are due to induced current in the winding due to which heating effect is produced, copper loss cannot be eradicated completely but can be reduced  by using windings made up of copper.

Core losses:

a. Eddy current losses can be reduced by laminating the core properly.

b. Hysteresis losses can be reduced by reducing the area of hysteresis loop

There are two types of losses in transformer:

1) Copper Losses

2) Core Losses (Hysteresis/Eddy Current Losses)

Copper losses are due to heating effect of current produced in the windings. Can be reduced by using windings made of pure copper.

Eddy current losses are produced due to current induced in the core because of magnetic flux linkage with core. Can be reduced by using core made of thin laminated sheets.

Hysteresis losses are due to energy lost because of  magnetization and demagnetization of core. It can be reduced by reducing the area of hysteresis loop.

Hi dear.

Loss in any machine is broadly defined as difference between input power and output power. When input power is supplied to the primary of transformer, some portion of that power is used to compensate core losses in transformer i.e. Hysteresis loss in transformer and Eddy current loss in transformer core and some portion of the input power is lost as I2R loss and dissipated as heat in the primary and secondary windings, because these windings have some internal resistance in them.

I hope my answer is right.

the transformer consist of two types  losses these are

1.copper loss

2.core loss or  iron loss

core loss

this is two types of loss

1.eddy current loss

2.hysteresis loss

eliminate method

1.cooper loss

the transformer winding is made thick so the resistance is minimised.

one more method is VPI tecnique

these are best way are reduce the copper loss in transformer

2.iron loss

in this loss occures in electrical transformer only.the reason of magnetic field fluctuations

the core material of lamination is reduce the iron loss

There are two types of losses in transformer.

1. Magnetic losses (Hysteresis loss and eddy current loss)

2. Copper losses.

Hysteresis loss can be reduced by using silicon steel as the core material.

Eddy current loss can be reduced by using laminated steel sections for core instead of solid sections.

There is not much that can be done to reduce copper loss.

There are two types of Losses in the transformer

1-copper losses

2-core losses

we can decrease these losses but cant finish

we can decrease copper losses by using good conductor material and we can decrease core losses by using soft iron strips insulated with another to reduce AD current

Actually there are 3 types of losses in the transformer.

1.as u know transformer  is a static device therefore  they are no friction and windage losses.

2. Iron losses or core losses these losses are occurred  by an alternating flux  in the core  . It consists  of hystersis and eddy current losses .

(hystersis losses can be minimized by silicon steel material)

(eddy current losses can be minimized by making thin laminations ranging above 0.3-0.5mm

3. Copper losses these losses are occurred in both primary and secondary winding due to ohmic restistance

(these can be minimized by hard winding)
