SP is Internet Service Providers, generally sell access to the Internet. When you hire an ISP service, they will provide you with a connection to the Internet, so you will be able to surf the web.

OSP is Online Service Providers, they sell online services. Some companies bring their services to the public via Internet. These services can vary from for example email services, through advising services, financial services, or advertising services.

An ISP is an Internet Service Provider. They provide connectivity to the internet. An OSP is an online service provider. They provide services when you're already connected, though some OSPs will provide connectivity through a third party ISP. Current suppliers prices and speeds are dependent upon where you are located.

ISP> Internet Service Providers, generally sell access to the Internet. When you hire an ISP service, they will provide you with a connection to the Internet, so you will be able to surf the web. OSP> Online Service Providers, they sell online services. Some companies bring their services to the public via Internet. These services can vary from for example email services, through advising services, finnancial services, or advertising services. Some ISPs combine their catalogue of services with OSPs, so you can get access to the Internet with them, and also take advantage of several other online services they provide.

ISP = Inside Plant.  This refers to all the cabling and equipment installed in a telecommunications facility, including the main distribution frame (MDF) and all the equipment extending inward therefrom.  ie. All of your wiring and equipment inside your facility.

OSP = Outside Plant.  This refers to all of the physical cabling and supporting infrastructure (such as conduit, cabinets, tower or poles), and any associated hardware (such as repeaters) located between a demarcation point in a switching facility and a demarcation point in another switching center or customer premises.  ie. All of your wiring and equipment outside of your facility.

Internet service provider is a company that provides individuals and other companies access to the Internet and other related services such as Web site building and virtual hosting. An ISP has the equipment and the telecommunication line access required to have a point-of-presence on the Internet for the geographic area served. The larger ISPs have their own high-speed leased lines so that they are less dependent on the telecommunication providers and can provide better service to their customers. Among the largest national and regional ISPs are AT&T WorldNet, IBM Global Network, MCI, Netcom, UUNet, and PSINet.

Online Service Providers, they sell online services. Some companies bring their services to the public via Internet. These services can vary from for example email services, through advising services, finnancial services, or advertising services. Some ISPs combine their catalogue of services with OSPs, so you can get access to the Internet with them, and also take advantage of several other online services they provide.

SP vs OSP ISP (Internet Service Provider) === Internet Service Providers provide internet access to customers and many also offer web site hosting and email services. OSP (Online Service Provider) Online Service Providers provides services through the internet. You usually need internet to access them. However, "online service provider" could simply mean you can dial into their service ("online") and it has no connection at all to the internet, which is the way most companies operated private data networks prior to the early 1990s, such as America Online, Prodigy, Telenet, etc
