Switchgear or RMU? What are the advantages and disadvantages of the each?

RMU is called Ring main units, we have an option to get power source during an interruption one feeder, but switch-gear one of electrically operated load break switch. if incomer fails, no option to get alter native source unless bus tie couple. 

switchgear is more expensive and bigger size for the sane function, it can accommodate the required protection  it include breaker. CT and VT.

RMU is smaller ,cheapest, usually accommodate fuse switch  only .no other protection.

HV panel is more safe for operation and in trip condition i.e. no flash .

here we use TRM for one trans  .for two or more  we use HV panel.
