Green mix concrete is environmentally friendly or recyclable concrete. The main idea of green mix concrete comes from the anti-environmental production methods used to produce the main ingredients of concrete.
Concrete is a compound material or mixture. It consists of cement, aggregates or chips and water.
- Cement production involves: Calcium Oxide, burning of Coal that produce a lot of Co2, CO, SO2, and generation of heat.
- Aggregates production involves: Mostly bricks and burning coal or tree, Stone that produce huge amount of heat, Co2 and destroy the forest.
- Concrete produce heat during the hydration reaction.
- Concrete production need fresh or clean water that is not even available for drinking in many places in the world, let alone for making concrete!
