Always make sure that you credit reporters and news sources for their information. Then you obviously put your own spin on the situation, which is what makes your blog worth writing. So for example, you might want to write about a bizarre murder that you just saw reported in Gulf News. You begin like this: "The Emirate of Sharjah is collectively in shock after learning of a murder-suicide in a popular local restaurant, as reported earlier today by Gulf News. Not everyone was taken by surprise, however. There are those of us who had long been concerned by the partying culture of Sharjah's youth. etc etc" So in this invented scenario, you have first grabbed your readers with a fascinating topic, and then credited the source who broke the story, but then you have gone on to give your own interesting perspective on the story.
