Hello, because of genuine deep rooted cultural issues I think. Some may call it concerns too.
In general, when it's mostly men that you have to deal with on site, the culture quickly kicks in and becomes a big burden.. Sometimes things go wrong and situations become difficult to handle.
Please don't get me wrong for this, but there are many known examples out there and honestly speaking, it's remains a matter of debate since this is a function of location, type of site, type of work , size of project, ..etc.
There are lso great great examples of women running the hardest projects, and they are many.
At the end, you can witness many changes taking place everywhere now and many are tangential ones. This means that setups are moving to the right direction, which is good and promising... I hope it's only a matter of time.
