Yes, the iPhone is one software almost perfectly coupled with a high quality hardware. It's easy to use, it's a status symbol, etc... But, on the other hand, it's expensive (including the iOS license and the Apple's accessories), its memory cannot be expanded, there is no DUAL SIM version (as long as I know), apps are more expensive and the availability of free apps is much lower when compared to Google Play. Not to mention that, for sw developers, producing an app for iOS is more complex, and putting it on the App Store is a more expensive and slower process. I would add a last one: in the recent years, it always gets to market months after the top Android stuff (Samsung, Huawei, etc...) have sold millions of unit (Galaxy S8 is here, the iPhone8 will arrive in September/October).

And, we could go on for hours, but the real point is this: the iPhone is one, while "Android" is very fragmented: if this is a weakness or a strenght, I'll leave it to the audience.

However, it seems that you have answered your question already by comparing "A Phone" with an operating system that has been utilized by many companies for their phone and each company is adding their touch on the same system where we as "end users" will notice a variance in system performance which I personally consider it as a "Shot Back" for these companies. This has made Apple and its distinguish system out of this fighting box where companies are fighting each other while they are using the same operating system.
