Thank you for asking this very important question.
Bruce Tuckman, a Professor at Ohio University teaching Educational Psychology came up with Five stages of Group or Team Development.
a) Forming:- a stage where a group is formed, socialized and clear objectives are established.
b) Storming:- Establishing Processes, Structures. Develop attributes among team members, cultivate culture of positives', Ability to resolve against a conflict, Team Management attributes etc.
c) Norming:- Leaving the lead role to step back and let the team take lead etc.
d) Performing:- This stage is perfectly for Delegating or vesting limited level of decisions
e) Adjourning:- Celebrating each success of the team.
Hope this suffices the purpose.
