Yes, political parties can apply pressure on the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to elect their candidates to top positions. This occurs in countries where the their is only one ruling party. An example of this is the People's Republic of China, where the Ruling Communist Party by law has party organizations in domestic companies, which its even trying to extend to foreign companies operating in Chania.
