A puzzling question. It's very difficult to inspire people when you've just given them good news, and you wouldn't need or even want to anyway. The good news will do the job.
It's easiest to inspire people when there is only bad news. That is when a leader can make a difference.
Inspiration can come from many things. Confidence, optimism, wit, eloquence, savoir-faire, determination, cheerfulness, realism, style, vision, even just sticking to basic virtues.
I think it is best to inspire employees when there is no news at all to share. Employees like to know that the work they do and the ideas they have are important. Recognizing the hard work an employee has done during a meeting in front of other staff or stopping at their desk to tell them their idea at the last meeting was worth looking into, goes a long way to inspire them to work hard and keep thinking of innovations to help the company. Employees need to know their hard work is appreciated. Employees need to know they are not invisible to management. Inspire by giving credit when and where credit is due. Creating a corporate culture where employees feel appreciated, where their ideas and concerns are listened to and addressed, where they are provided with the tools they need to do a good job, makes for daily inspiration. Don't play favorites with employees. Give all employees the same respect and consideration but notice and recognize an employee when hard work and innovation of an employee goes beyond expectations. Not only does that employee feel appreciated but others will strive for it as well. As you said, it is easy to inspire when there is good news but if employees are inspired in small ways on a daily bases then bad news can also inspire because employees feel like they are part of a team, appreciated and loyal. When bad news hits they will be inspired to rise to the challenges posed by bad news because it is not just a company they work for but a company in which they are an integral and respected part,
Encourage workers to not allow where they’re at today to dictate how they think about the future.
2. Share examples.Speak of both failures and successes so your team can relate.
Reminding them of the old good days, keep the meetings going and considering suggestions.
Leaders should act true to Employees, not just pretending it still fine or okay, somehow it is good to be true rather than letting them expect too much but in the end they will be upset.
first try to understand where they stuck and what tools they missed, giving initial push for sure you will get some good news
