Xref help you to coordinate two drawing
allows us to work on a drawing base, we should not change, such as in the design of transport Pipelining, where required to work with the plan views, but we do not need editing

using this command we can attach an another drawing for reference in the active working drawing
xref command to show all the plan that are attached in the drawing.
X-ref command is very reliable and helpful interms of time consumption with respect to editing of your base or reference plan. It is very useful from medium scale to large scale projects that composed of multiple discipline drawings....Just edit your base plan in the event of any changes in the design either it is according to client's request, as per site condition or technical issues that involved other disciplines.

· Keep the names of layers, dimensioning styles, text styles, and other named elements in your drawing separate from those in referenced drawings.
· Merge (bind) attached referenced drawings permanently with your current drawing when the project is complete and ready to be archived.
