Real estate project managing and commercial one diffrence?

Thank you for the invitation. I have agreed with our colleagues answers that the difference between real Estate Project Manager and Commercial Manager is in the roles, tasks & tools. Most of the Project Managing is focusing on the technical and organizational affairs more than the Commercial Managing in the Real Estate.

Commercial project managers coordinate the efforts of different team members involved in a project. The managers work in various industries and may be involved with engineers, technicians and designers. Although the roles and responsibilities of a commercial project manager may vary, depending on the project's scope, this position has a fairly standardizedset of core duties.

Defining Project Goals

One of the first things a commercial project manager does is define the goals of the project. She develops drafts that outline the specific objectives expected from a project. Project managers may also map out the different teams that will be involved during the project, with a charter that defines the responsibilities and duties of each. Defining the goals of a project is a significant step, as it helps coordinate the activities thereafter.

Sorry, I do not know anything about real estate and purely commercial projects. Nevertheless, project management principles can be applied no matter what the project is.

Real estate project manager and commercial project manager difference lies in his interface with architects, engineers, designers, real estate brokers, legal issues. However, the broader knowledge areas, skills, tools remains similar. A person who has worked as both commercial project manager and engineering project manager carries forward the knowledge and skills useful for real estate project manager

Commercial real estate project management is business-focused

Under my Knowledge, project management principles and rules work for any type of project: small or big, home residential or commercial, or any other projects.

Project management concepts are more or less the same for different projects' aspects.

For real-estate the could be come external circumstances that could be unavoidable that could control project execution related to weather for example.

On the other  hand commercial projects have different set of circumstances that could affect the project like 'time to market', 'competitors' campaign', etc.
