In summary, what are some things I can look for in someone's body language to know if they like me or dislike me?
Can these indications be helpful in interviews?
There is no single sign for hatred
While there is no single body sign for hatred or disapproval, a person can still connect the dots together and find out whether someone is trying to avoid him or not. The presence of one of those signs doesn't mean that a person hates you, but if all are present then there might be a possibility.
Not facing you while talking
If a person is interested to continue talking then he will stand with his shoulders parallel to you. While a person won't stand properly if he is in a hurry, it could still be a negative sign if the person always stands this way while talking to you.
False smiles
A real genuine smile usually affects the muscles of the face surrounding the eyes. If a person smiles with his mouth only without the rest of his face, then it might not be a genuine smile.
Touching the nose as soon as you arrive
People touch their noses when something negative happens or when they get a negative thought. If each time you arrive someone touches his nose then he might not be happy with your presence.
Taking side steps while talking to you
A person who keeps taking side steps while talking to someone usually means he wants to leave. If a person always wants to leave when he talks to you then, he might not be interested in talking to you.
Very little eye contact
Some people don't make lots of eye contact because they are shy, but if an ordinary person is avoiding looking at you then it might mean that he is not interested in you.
Keeping a large distance between you both
If a person dislikes someone then he will keep a large distance between him and that person compared to the distance he keeps when he stands with other people. See personal space in body language.
No touching
People touch each other when they feel comfortable around each other. If a close friend sits beside you then his leg might be touching yours. If a person doesn't like you then he wouldn't want to touch you unconsciously.
Yawning can indicate lack of interest
There are so many reasons that could make a person yawn, but generally if a person yawned a lot on a first meeting then it might mean that he is not that interested in you.
Those signs might indicate lack of interest and not hatred
Even if all of those signs are present, they might just indicate lack of interest and not hatred. It's very important that you don't make conclusions about people using these signs alone. Some of the above may be due to a person being stressed or having recently suffered a loss.
.
He takes any opportunity to close the talk and the eye contact may be weak thats he or she looks as if he is bussy or hurrying up,few questions and being uneasy
I suppose, if you are pleasant to a person, his regard will be directed mostly towards you, his body is turned to your side and he is very carefull to what you say or do. Otherwise, person is not paying any attention to your actions, doesn't wish to make an eye contact and is willing to finish communication with you.
In all, if someone dislike you, he takes any opportunity to close the talk and the eye contact becomes week. in the other hand, if somebody likes you, he shows his care through his eye contact and to nod his head in order to demonstrate his enthousiasm and don't intrupt you.
Generally speaking for interview setting (i.e. situations where people who do not know each other meet for the first time) smiling vs frowning / blank face, leaning toward you or away from you.
