HR department used to prepare a training calendar once in a year. HR department used to coordinate with all the departments, identify the training needs, prepare the training accordingly.
The Training Needs Analysis is essentially an HR led project which occurs once an year in most companies. It involves a series of focus-group workshops with Head of respective Departments at the company. This is followed by an approval stage whereby the training needs are identified and segregated from 'training wants' for each department and approved. The approved trainings enter the Training Calendar and get implemented thereby impacting performance and improving business results.
