Key Differences Between Logistics and Supply Chain Management
The following are the major differences between logistics and supply chain management:
A supply chain is made up of all the activities required to deliver products to the customer, from designing products to receiving orders, procuring material, marketing, manufacturing, logistics, customer service, receive payments etc.
Logistics is about managing the movement of material and products with an organization and outside the organization and it is part of supply chain management. whereas supply chain management is about management of information, cash, resource and product with in the whole the chain of supply from raw material supplier to manufacture to distributor to whole sell till finally the end user. The supply chain management is about provide the right product at the right customer at the right place at the right price and at the right time
