Thank you for the invitation. My answer is no, it can never replace the software applications. Everything has its own importance. The best example I would like to give here is that of the ebooks. Some people like to read books in electronic format while some prefer reading the same book in paper form. I personally prefer paper form over electronic format.

i think it depends on the requirement let's assume that we wanna create a Mobile Application that doesn't require a way to communicate with device hardware e.g MBC SHAHED it's worked very well but we can say 'no' from a perspective of performance and compatibility
Technology is beyond, and its tough to predict precisely, but at this point, i think NO. This relies on ones domain , For example logistics domain has huge business process to go and some business works by integrating/collaborating different applications. In these areas ,mobile websites cant be replaced.
Yes, ABSOLUTELY . And they do so already, on a regular basis. Just like Software applications has replaced/s brick and mortar shops/business - and also jobs that used to be done by people - like bank clerks and ATM's .... It has happened and is happening right now. look around and notice...

I don't think so. each one has importance but could not be replaced other.Software application has wide range of the tools with good facilities in the using. Each one has some features and characteristic to make it more preferable and workable than other for a certain categories of people.
My answer is No and agreed with colleague reply
I do not think that Mobile friendly websites can replace software applications due to the security issues along with the mobile websites.
