A long-term asset is an asset that a company expects to sell or otherwise recognize the economic value of after more than one year.
Basically the assets which exists more than one year are long term assets. Some examples are land, plant, property , equipment, long term investment.
Long-term assets are those held on a company's balance sheet for more than one year. Property, plant and equipment are typical examples of long-term assets. In contrast, current assets are held by a company for one year or less.

In accounting, long term assets or non current assets are assets that intended to be used for more than one accounting reference period. They are not to be sold but to used in the business by entity concerned. Examples include land, plant and equipment, motor vehicles etc.
