Not really. I believe that there is increasignly huge gap between the way today's socially connected tech-savy people consume news and the way local media transmit the news and events. Local media with their inherent limitations cannot be as fast as the always-live Social Media channels which transmit news and incident almost instantly. Today every socially connected individual is equipped with transmission facility which takes no time to spread news about an incident/event.
Yes there needs improvement in the terms of being unbiased in delivering the news to the society at large. Most of the media are in position to have a customer base depending on the Political agenda of the Political parties and they henceforth deal with biased reports or hide the major facts to the public.
THE LOCAL MEDIA IN MY COUNTRY DON'T COVER ALL THE NEWS AND EVENTS, THEY NEED IMPROVEMENT.
The local media in my country do not cover all the news and events, it entirely depends on editorial decision and type of news or event of their intrest. There is certainly room for improvement.
We are present in all moust event made morocco
The local media here in my country didn't cover all the news and events. It needs a lot of improvement and the local media shoukd not protect those higher officials who were involved with anomalities.
Media in the country most of the time covers sensational news that helps in increasing eyeballs ad TRP. With the Recent innovation namely the Internet, social platforms, and mobile device, they have upended how we receive, consume, share, and interpret the news. Local media in my country lacks the need for knowledge based reporting which journalism now lacks, but sorely needs. The key is for reporters, editors and news directors to seek out the truth and resist the urge to pander. In a world in which comfortingly false information is never more than a click of the mouse or the cable box away, it is important for knowledge-based journalism to reach an audience larger than the one that already seeks reliable news.
Improvement is definitely required but we are catching up on that and are trying our best to cover all the events.
Its a paid media.
we get better information on social media than the news channels and newspapers.
THE LOCAL MEDIA DOES A GOOD JOB IN COVERING THE EVENTS IN MY COUNTRY BUT AS ALL COUNTRIES IN AFRICA AND THE THE WORLD IN GENERAL THERE IS ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT.
No, not really. There are so many unspoken and unsaid events happening that no one really speaks up about. They should bring up these issues and look for solutions. Example - the blogging industry.
