Thank you for the invitation, I am not well versed with Software team management.
i ve been Using Scrum for the last 3 years and its very practical when the team is between 3 and 7.
Specially the Daily Standup , the backlog refinement, sprint planing and sprint retrospective
In this you way you will have the chance to communicate with your team in every occasion
First of all i will like to appreciate the software development team what ever they have developed. Then i will ask them how we can improve so many things in the software keeping in view the near future requirments. It will motivate them and they definitely will think on the requirements more positively.
The problem here is not the team, it's the management.
How and why was the wrong launch date selected? Why are the team not already aware of the launch date and it's significance? What happened to the original plan for meeting the launch date? What is the new plan? Why does the team working more hours solve the problem - what other solutions might there be? How much extra will the team get paid for rescuing the management from their mistakes? Etc.
You need a plan. "More hours" is not a plan, it's a cry for help. Get the whole team involved in making the plan and implementing it.
Most importantly, stop saying and thinking "they". There is no "they": there is only "us". If the company goes bust because the deadline wasn't met, the managers lose their jobs too.
Managers should normally work more hours that the team members.
Open Meeting. It is easier to communicate your passion and how you feel to your team via open meetings

They should be communicated through email or over phone calls, Phone calls will be more preferable because it is 121 communication.
