Accomplishing a task or goal on time. The result should be best in Quality, not Quantity. Building a tower that couldn't stand is of no use

I have yet to lead a team. I would probably deploy 'spot checks.' Especially if the team is more than five people or so. Then if I want to know about performance management, ask different subsets of the team about different things on a regular basis. Spread my position management out over awhile to allow the team time to progress. That should allow enough time for my own obligations, like long lunches, walks on the beach, afternoon movies and shopping.
