Eliminate middle-men recruiters as much as possible. Especially if you are not an opw. Reach out to prospective employers directly. Set your goals on a reasonable attainment approach; so ladder your own career development. Let's say you want to be a sales manager or department lead. Start out in sales, then after the swing of things is under way, begin to seek employment in positions of greater responsibility. Also, diversify your income stream with different employers to show adaptability and variety.

Getting a job in a competitive environment works a lot similar to marketing in a mass production industry. You need to treat yourself as if you were a product and match your prospect employer needs. Look for the job that you want while working in a job, instead of just looking for your dream job.

Second, your CV is your initial contact with your prospect employer, unless your CV got a (hook), employers usually too busy to read four pages of personal information in details.

Make it short (1 page) straight to the point, highlight what you think is your best qualities.

Good luck my friend, hopefully we will hear good news soon.
