Today, I stand having recieved an education across 4 countries - India, UK, Singapore & UAE. I do believe very strongly that it is not only the personality of the teacher/professor that makes an impact but also the way in which that personality comes across in his/her teaching methods. The best professors/teachers that I've had and who have left a lasting impact not only in my life but in that of the entire class, I can say that without a doubt their personality and their passion definitely came shining through.

Teachers with a weaker personality don't necessarily get taken advantage of but in my experience they do leave the class disinterested in them and moreso in their subject.

The one technique that would help a teacher maintain a healthy TS relationship is to manage being firm yet friendly with his/her students. A teacher should gain the trust and the respect of the students in parallel. Classroom control, time management and in-class activities are a must.

It doesn't about having strong or weak personality. Indeed it's about the teaching method and organizing the classroom.

A teacher doesn't need physically strong personality but she/he needs to be strong enough in her/his subject matter.

If by 'Personality' you mean physical attributes of a person or teacher....'my answer would be No'....

To me.. for a teacher the knowledge of the subject matter concerned and the way that knowledge is communicated is important.....I believe a teacher by creating a space for learning with his approach to teaching would help in creating and maintaining discipline in the class room.

Of course. He/she should be an example for the students. But strong personality doesn't necessarily refer to being too rigid because a teacher should have the sense of humour. A teacher liked by the students can control the classroom easily.
