Translating From Arabic to English is easier somehow. But it depends on the perfection of the language you want to translate.
In general, it is known that Arabic to English translation is usually the hardest as it requires an excellent command of English language and this requires from a non-native English speaker to work hard and to read a lot to reach that level of competency that enables him/her to produce top quality work.
Personally, I enjoy translating both ways and I find them almost the same. Reading and practice is the key to produce quality work regardless of the language that is being translated to or from.
Differs from person to another actually! Some Translate better A>E. While others, work vice versa E>A. However, some are skilled that both ways are easy. It all comes to which language you can guess it in the head, and which you can extract it out in the form of a linguistic code.
Actually, I believe both are the same, BUT it depends on what you prefer most and how you learnt translation in the past. On one hand, your mother language/ tongue will have an immense effect on your choice which one is easier. On the other hand, a professional translator won't feel any difference between both languages except for the entry of new English vocabularies and terms increasingly.
For me it is easier to translate from Arabic to English.
