Grammar is a set of structural rules that governs the composition of clauses, phrases, words and sentences in a language. It refers to the study of such rules. Grammar includes phonology and phonetics (study of sounds), morphology (study of words), syntax (study of sentences), semantics (study of meaning)..... So, syntax is a branch of grammar. :)

grammar is the rules but syntax is how the sentence is formed (is it active or passive ? is it short or long? )
